New VX Grande Prado

Toyota has launched two new high-grade LandCruiser Prado models.

The new eight-seat Prado VX grade Quad Cam V6 and Turbo-diesel fit between the current GXL and Grande equipment grades.

Prado VX has electronically controlled automatic transmission, and a high level of safety and comfort equipment:

• Passive safety equipment - above GXL grade - includes front-seat mounted SRS side airbags and front and second-row seat curtain shield airbags;
• Active safety equipment includes Toyota's leading edge Driver Assist Technology - to improve on and off-road safety and comfort; and
• Prado VX's Driver Assist Technology package includes Hill-start Assist Control, active traction control (TRC), vehicle stability control (VSC) and Downhill Assist Control (DAC.

Comfort items above GXL grade include dual front zone climate control air conditioning with driver and passenger control, clean air filter and rear cooler.

Prado VX also has electrically adjustable driver's seat lumbar support, driver's seat vertical height adjustment, adjustable front head restraints and telescopic steering column adjustment.

In addition, Prado VX has suede-look seat and door trim, woodgrain-look dashboard features and door trim, roof rails, privacy glass, and illuminated driver and passenger vanity mirrors with covers.

Prado's auto transmission has a gated shift and its two-speed full-time 4WD transfer has a torque-sensing centre differential.

All 14 Prado models have dual SRS airbags, full-time 4WD and eight seats - with a three-point seatbelt and separate head restraint for every seat.

Toyota's new-generation LandCruiser Prado GXL Turbo-diesel has been named 4X4 of the Year by a leading Australian four wheel drive magazine.

It is Toyota's second successive 4X4 Of The Year win, building on the success of LandCruiser 100 Series GXL V8 in the 2003 award.
